I put my pedal to the metal Never thought I’d run out of fuel Out of drive Out of touch Doubting all I thought I knew Spinning out Losing speed How will I get back To you Stuck in the middle of nowhere Lost so far from home I need more Gasoline Can you hear me calling When I’m all alone You know just What I need Keep my engine going Get me on the road Just send more Gasoline The desert closes all around me So much space it Suffocates Out of hope Out of drive I can’t leave this Up to fate Out of fire Out of fuel Please don’t let me Hesitate Stuck in the middle of nowhere Lost so far from home I need more Gasoline Can you hear me calling When I’m all alone You know just What I need Keep my engine going Get me on the road Just send more Gasoline Stuck in the middle of nowhere Lost so far from home I need more Gasoline Can you hear me calling When I’m all alone You know just What I need Keep my engine going Get me on the road Just send more Gasoline You get my engine going Let’s rev it up once again You are my Gasoline You keep my engine going Let’s rev it up once again You are my Gasoline

How did we get here So far from our dreams We just let them die out And that's how it seems As each one perished It called out our name But we just turned away And buried our shame We let the world Grind us But that's not how it It should be So many times I’ve Laid down I let them walk all Over me Now's the time for Fighting We make own Destiny Can’t see the horizon When you’re under the ground Just feel the boot heels Pushing you down I spent my time digging My way the sky And I’ll pull you with me You just have to try We let the world Grind us But that's not how it It should be So many times I’ve Laid down I let them walk all Over me Now's the time for Fighting We make own Destiny We let the world Grind us But that's not how it It should be So many times I’ve Laid down I let them walk all Over me Now's the time for Fighting We make own Destiny Join me in this fight now This self fulfilling Prophecy

I always knew just Who I was Even when it Wasn't popular I took the hardest path I wouldn't compromise I wouldn't back down I couldn't say the lies Because in the Harshest light of day To trust in myself Was the only way And this may be the Pride before the fall (Before the fall) But I have have chosen Honor Above All (Above All) I know it's tempting Just to give in When the bastards Always seem to win But at the end of days What will you leave behind I'll choose honor Because that choice is mine And this may be the Pride before the fall (Before the fall) But I have have chosen Honor Above All And this may be the Pride before the fall (Before the fall) But I have have chosen Honor Above All Yes I have chosen Honor Above All

Strike 04:57
It's time to strike out No turning back We leave the past now In our tracks The sound, the fury Our souls burn bright We have no choice but To own the night Strike hard Just like a hammer Churn the dust beneath our heels Pierce through Just like an arrow We crush all doubt beneath our wheels We raise our voices To the growing storm Steel and lightning Our hearts transform Raise your fists high Our only friends As those before us Reap the whirlwind Strike hard Just like a hammer Churn the dust beneath our heels Pierce through Just like an arrow We crush all doubt beneath our wheels We stand on the edge of forever Looking towards our future's past Seeing our fate laid before us Those who oppose us cannot last Band together in this struggle And strike against the universe

C’mon Baby Let’s streak ‘cross the sky Splitting the heavens Burning through time Celestial bodies Our orbits entwined Celestial bodies Bring yours next to mine Tear through the galaxies Our stars become one We’ll both go nova Burning twin suns Planets and meteors Venus and Mars Light years of pleasure All can be ours The spheres serenade us Warmed by the Sun As we lay together We become as one Celestial bodies The galaxies open wide Celestial bodies Won’t you be mine

I always smell smoke before fire See trouble from miles away But you snuck in through my blind spot, baby Ready to ruin the day And I tried so hard to forget you Avoiding you every way But you turn up just like a bad penny And I am the one who pays Well what do you know about karma It seems like you never learn I’ve got this advice for you, baby You’d best be ready to burn You think that you’ve got your hooks in But the tables are going to turn You brought the fire on yourself, honey You’d best be ready to burn You think that you’re back in my life now Ready to start up again But this time it’s gonna be different , sugar I’m not letting you win You think that I won’t fight back now It’s back to more of the same But I gotta tell you one thing, honey I'm the one holding the flames And what do you know about karma It seems like you never learn I’ve got this advice for you, baby You’d best be ready to burn You think that you’ve got your hooks in But the tables are going to turn You brought the fire on yourself, honey You’d best be ready to burn I hate to see you coming But it’s good watching you walk away And I know you’ll be back here, baby Sooner than later I’d say And I ain’t taking no chances Waiting for my luck to turn Next time you feel like showing up, honey You’ll see just what I learned

This Time 04:00
Once again I let you down I didn’t even have to try I failed at every Everything I did today I wish I could tell you why Once again this time it’s Gonna be different Once again this time it’s All in my hands Once again this time it's Gotta be different Once again this time it’s Gotta to go as I planned Again you tell me That actions speak much louder than words But I don’t know what to say I tell myself that I can make it through tomorrow But I just echo yesterday Once again this time it’s Gonna be different Once again this time it’s All in my hands Once again this time it's Gotta be different Once again this time it’s Gotta to go as I planned And I know that I’ve said these things a million times But I’ll make it a million and one So many words I’ve said Promises I never kept So many things left undone Once again this time it’s Gonna be different Once again this time it’s All in my hands Once again this time it's Gotta be different Once again this time it’s Gotta to go as I planned One more time you need to know One more time this is for sure Once more time I’ve said these things All a million times One more time you need to know One more time this is for show Once more time I’ve said these things All a million times

1,000 Suns 04:11
I came home to The sound of laughter Somehow they knew About you and me Was it fun to Spread our business To everyone and Into the street Did it make you Feel much bigger Was it funny How you treated me I could have shrugged off The betrayal But it was there for Everyone to see Don't you know that I lived on anger I had to To survive I know I can't Live on hatred But Lord knows how Hard I tried And I know that You had your Ogres Once again through Word of mouth They were saying That you were spreading More than lies Way down South And I know that You asked about me Trying to bait me Bringing up the past I wanted peace and I wanted distance I should have known that It wouldn't last Don't you know that I lived on anger I had to To survive I know I can't Live on hatred But Lord knows how Hard I tried And I hate that I have this anger I'm ashamed that You're the one Bringing back All this hatred Brighter than a thousand suns Don't you know that I lived on anger I had to To survive I know I can't Live on hatred But Lord knows how Hard I tried And I hate that I have this anger I'm ashamed that You're the one Bringing back All this hatred Brighter than a thousand suns

I swept through the wastelands Searching for you And now my chest tightens As you cross the room Your breath burns my neck now As you whisper my name It burns more intensely Than these cities in flames The world split asunder And tore you away And I fought forever For this very day The sky is the color Of red death and despair Still I dreamt of your blue eyes And the scent of your hair The scars that I bear now Are worth all the pain To hold you here tightly In this city in flames The world split asunder And tore you away And I fought forever For this very day Through ashes and heartache Through valleys and spires I braved Hell just to be here In these cities on fire As the world came down around us And it all ended in fire I fought so hard to be by your side Now that we're together I'd even fight the flames They burn like my love And we'll never be the same The world split asunder And tore you away And I fought forever For this very day Through ashes and heartache Through valleys and spires I braved Hell just to be here In these cities on fire

about

Album Notes:
Austin, TX based Deserts of Mars was formed in 2006 with a heavy fuzzed out bass sound and the idea that the Riff Rules ALL!!!

Deserts of Mars is:

Tony Salvaggio – Founding member of DoM whose growling bass has been known to shake the stars and is the perfect compliment to his melodic vocals.
Bob Hoff – Guitarist creating majestic highs and crunching low sonic melodic blasts.
Erik Kinservik -The Space Viking brings the thunder of meteors hitting moons

Garnering positive reviews and loyal fans known as Martian Maniacs, there is but one goal among this trio of galactic travelers: Spread heaviness and Mars Metal across the universe in a quest for musical DoMination on every planet that craves rock and loves to groove.

Martian scrolls outline a recent history:

Always searching for the next elusive Mars Metal song hidden in dark matter or between space/time this power trio is aided in their quest by the visual leadership of former drummer Billy Garretsen. Billy (Perfect Dork Studios) accepted a mission to train his newborn daughter to fight Rocktopi and left the drumming post of DoM for this nobile mission. Billy stays connected to the band and helps with visual design and direction of the band’s flyers etc… Upon Billy’s depature DoM reconnected with the Mars Curiosity Rover and activated its secret mission to find a suitable replacement. Curiosity unearthed Erik the Space Viking from his cryostasis deep within the Martian caves and sent him to earth on his Viking ship to bring the thunder to DoM.

“Transmission” is the culmination of the first leg of this planet hopping journey, via the navigation and propulsion of engineer Mark Dufour and the relentless rock of DoM.
